Established in 1978 by Jacques Fortier and Jean-Luc Boulay, Le Saint-Amour has become an institution in Quebec City and an iconic reference in Quebec’s gastronomical circles, serving French haute cuisine with an accent on regional produce. Renowned Chef Jean-Luc Boulay and his kitchen brigade make use of the most recent techniques to honour the best products from our local producers and offer a gourmet, refined, and unique gastronomic experience.
Le Saint-Amour was recently rated in the top ten of Canadian traveller’s favourite fine dining restaurants (Traveller’s choice 2014, 2015 and 2016) and our wine cellar contains one of the 10 largest wine selections in Canada with over 15,000 bottles from around the world. Over the years, we have had the pleasure of welcoming many celebrities such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Alicia Keys, One Republic, The Black Keys, Johnny Hallyday, Charles Aznavour and many others who have chosen Le Saint-Amour while in Quebec City.
These recognitions can be added to a number of distinctions received in recent years such as the title of French Master Chef (Maîtres Cuisiniers de France), awarded Officer of France’s National Order of Agricultural Merit, received the Award in Celebration of the Nation’s Table by the Governor-General of Canada, as well as the Prix Hommage Renaud- Cyr. Le Saint-Amour has received 4 stars from the Debeur Guide (their highest distinction) and was named “best restaurant of the year” by Guide Debeur 2011. Chef Boulay is also recognized for sharing his passion with the next generation; notably as the permanent judge of the TV Show Les Chefs! broadcasted on Radio-Canada for 10 seasons.

Le Saint-Amour, which can accommodate up to 90 clients, fascinates with its sumptuousness and its Art Nouveau-inspired decor, a creation of the famous Italian designer Giovanni Maur and Quebec artist-âinters Jean Gaudreau and Marius Dubois.
The impressive interior courtyard, one of the three dining rooms, is crowned with a glazed ceiling ten meters high, giving the pleasant sensation of being in a winter garden. Amidst the elegantly set tables, a tree stands, giving the room a majestic atmosphere.
The Saint-Amour experience is marked by a service that conquers by its professionalism: a calm atmosphere conducive to delighting in artistically delicious creations. For over 35 years, our director Pierre Lemay has been overlooking the warm, personalized, and very professional service of our team.
